Dh and I bought our couches from Weekends Only not too long after we moved to Saint Louis. After our second move, I started to notice the microfiber was no longer this nice brown. It was more like a brown with dingy marks all over it. Baby G's cups left wet spots, the dog has rubbed her face all over it, and lets face we have had a few "whoops" moments with our drinks too.
This is pretty much what all the cushions look(d) like. I worried we would have to replace the entire couch with our next move. But, after seeing this done in another blog.. I HAD to try it.
Step One: Fill Spray bottle with Rubbing Alcohol. (RUBBING is the key word)
Step Two: Get a scrub brush with a white scrubber. (Any other color may transfer to your couch.)
Step Three: Spray and scrub.
Here is my final CLEAN product. I almost jumped for joy. There are still several spots that could use another scrubbing in a few days. Please note this is the same cushion from the first picture. LOOK AT HOW CLEAN IT IS!
Gag! This is what my scrub brush looked like in the end. It definitely needed that scrubbing!
If you are worried about discoloration to your microfiber cushions/couch try a "Strand" test on a spot that is less noticeable. I started with a side, and worked my way around.
