FINALLY! Baby Bedding I like..

When we were looking for baby bedding for G's room, we ran into a money issue. They were all so expensive. It was actually rather depressing how expensive they were. But, never fear, I recently found a site with all types of baby bedding that believe it or not is super affordable. I am actually looking into getting G a new bedding set, since you know, she has grown out of her pink and brown elephant's.

While I was browsing their website, I found several sets that I would have LOVED to have when G was younger. I even found some she would like now, as a toddler. Here are some of my favorites:

After browsing this website for a good hour or so, I realize that it wasn't actually one giant store. Instead, it was a central place for different companies products. These types of websites really help cut your search for a product such as baby bedding in half. When we picked G's bedding it honestly took me several weeks. This time around I found something I liked within minutes. I have my fingers crossed that both G, and Aaron like it as well.

Cardinals Vs Mets

This past week Aaron got all-inclusive tickets for a Cardinals game. I was literally just saying how we go to at least one game a year, and this year I hadn't gone at all. That's when he text me, and told me not to make plans for September 21st. When we got to our seats, which were the best seats we have sat in to date, we were given a wrist band and a cup. We were told not to lose our cup, because if we did... no beer. I honestly was not impressed with the all-you can eat option. I, for some strange reason, thought that there would be burgers, wings, more toppings than what was offered. Instead it was all you can eat hot dogs and brauts with sour kraut, jalapenos, relish, mustard, and ketchup. If you wanted to be really fancy, you could rip up a braut and put it on top of some tortilla's with some nacho cheese. But, don't you even dare think about the sour cream, salsa, pulled pork, etc because there wasn't any. Boy, wasn't I sad? I was actually craving wings last night. That's what I was dead set on. Either way, we still had a great time. Here are some of our pictures from the afternoon.

Sodastream Review

I was given the chance to review a popular Sodastream product. I have been so busy making soda, and sparkling water that I completely forgot to write my review. I know, shame on me.

We received the Sodastream Jet, which is a worldwide best seller. We also received about twenty of the fifty different soda flavors, along with a few sparkling water flavors. My favorites are the root beer, and cola flavors! The best part, these SodaStream machines are super affordable!

The Sodastream Jet is honestly one of my favorite products I have had the chance to review to date. The soda machine gave us a little extra family time, as everyone wanted to stand around to watch the water turn into soda. The best part, it only takes about two-three minutes and everyone can participate. From filling the bottle with water, to pushing the button to carbonate the water, and pouring the syrup in.

Here are some facts:
  • SodaStream is an "active green" product, meaning that consumers are actively reducing their CO2 footprint every time they make soda or sparkling water at home instead of buying it from the store.
  • An average can of Pepsi is 100 calories. An average can of Coke is 100 calories. A glass of SodaStream cola in only 34 calories.
  • One Sodastream reusable bottle helps save the world from over 2000 bottles and cans.
  • Over fifty flavors... regular, diet, and the new all-natural.

Our family gives SodaStream an A+!

Six Flags Saint Louis

When we heard that it was going to be cold and drizzly, we knew it would be the PERFECT time to pack up and go to Six Flags Saint Louis! No lines, no crowds! We visited all of the rides Ginni could/would ride with an adult. (Which was actually more than we had originally thought) She enjoyed every minute of being a big girl on the rides. I think her favorite is the carousel, she cried every time she had to get off the horses. Before we got ready to leave, we made ran into Tweety bird and Silvester. Ginni was a little stand-off-ish, when it came to them. After twenty minutes of standing and waving to them, she finally caved and gave them each a hug. Here are several of my favorite photographs from our trip!

Kale Chips

During our test run of the Reboot Diet, Aaron and I found a new household favorite. Kale chips. Yes, you read that right. I said, Kale chips! Our two year old scarfed them down so fast, she begged for more when they were gone. While you might look at them and think, "Uhhh, really that looks way too healthy, it almost looks gross". I thought the exact same thing. Boy, wasn't I shocked! This recipe is gluten free, but calls for a lot of salt. If you aren't a fan of so much salt, you can just cut the salt in half. Also, side note: we didn't use vinegar at all.

Gluten Free Salt and Vinegar Kale Chips
1 head dino kale, chopped 1 teaspoon olive oil 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar 1 teaspoon celtic sea salt
  1. Place kale in a large bowl
  2. Drizzle with olive oil and vinegar, then sprinkle with salt
  3. Massage above ingredients into kale with your hands
  4. Spread out kale on 2 parchment lined baking sheets, so that pieces of kale do not touch
  5. Bake at 375° for 10-13 minutes until dry and crispy
  6. Cool 10 minutes and serve

DesignerLiner Review

When I first heard about DesignerLiner's, I won't lie I was a little, okay a lot, stoked. Who doesn't like the idea of potentially dressing up that ugly trash can. I personally, did not dig the design that was sent, but they have a TON of designs to actually choose from. The best part about these bags? They are biodegradable. This is a greener, more environmentally safe version to the grocery bag in the trash can. By the way, they make great gifts, and they are very affordable! Hint, Hint! DesignerLiner's comes in a package of 12 for $9.95.

Every designerliner is made from a revolutionary additive technology which makes it biodegradable while maintaining the other desired characteristics of plastic products.

DesignerLiners:

  • Are fulling biodegradable in 9 months to 5 years
  • Are fully biodegradable wherever they are disposed of
  • Are Recyclable
  • Can be made with recycled resins
  • Does not use heat, light or mechanical stress to break them down
  • Does not require special handling
  • Does not contain heavy metals

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Grants Farm

Weekend before last we took a side trip, as a family, to Grants Farm. We got to see Ulysses S Grants house he originally built for his wife. Ginni got really excited to see the animals that were free roam, to an extent. She was really really excited about the tram ride. By the time we got on the tram and into the park, it was already 4p.m, they close at 6p.m. We wont make that mistake again. Here are some pictures from our adventure!

Ginni was clearly using pick up lines to get a date.

Aaron wanted to feed the goats, but they were so full.

Ginni was completely okay with just petting them.
This turtle out weighted us all.

Checking out the birds!

Our Visit to Thierbach's

We decided this past Sunday was the best day to go to Thierbach's Apple Orchard in Marthasville, Missouri. It was a nice 75 degrees, perfect apple picking weather with a two year old. Ginni got to see the goats, chickens, a few roosters, and slide on the giant slide. We have gone to Thierbach's for the past three years. It is a big hit with our family. Some of our favorite treats from Thierbach's are their famous apple cider slushies, they never disappoint! Another family favorite is the apple butter spread. Here are some photographs from our trip!

End of the trip, she passed out just like this.

Ginni enjoying her apple, with daddy, on the wagon ride back to the shop.

Ringing the bell after making it through Thierbach's rope maze.

Multiple shots of Ginni enjoying that same apple. It was gigantic!

8lbs of apples at $1.30 a lb. I would say that's a great deal.

Daddy wiping off the bugs.

We can't wait to go again next fall!
